AL chief arrives in Qatar today

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid is to arrive today in Doha to meet with Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber in order to discuss the Middle East peace process and the possibility of convening an Arab summit.
The media spokesman for the AL, Tallat Hamid, said the visit of the AL chief to Qatar comes at the invitation of Qatar to discuss the Middle East peace process, inter-Arab reconciliation and items listed on the agenda of the council of the Arab foreign ministers meeting due to be held on September 4 and 5. Talks will also cover the question of the three Gulf islands disputed by the United Arab Emirates and Iran.
