Amman, Tehran for boosting bilateral cooperation
Jordan-Iran, Politics, 7/26/1999

A Jordanian official source said on Sunday that Amman and Tehran have agreed to strengthen their cooperation in various tourism, religious and cultural areas.

On Sunday, Iranian Minister of Culture and National Guidance Atallah al-Muhajirani arrived in Jordan to hold talks dealing with means of strengthening tourism relations between the two countries.

It is expected that King Abdullah Bin Hussein and Jordanian Minister of Information and Culture Nasser Lowzi will meet with the Iranian minister to discuss the possibility of setting up an Iranian cultural center in Amman.

Relations between the two countries started to improve last year when the two sides agreed to start direct air flights between Amman and Tehran and strengthen free trade.

It is also decided that the Muhajirani, the second Iranian minister to visit Jordan within one month, will head for Yemen and Kuwait before he returns home.
