Oath of allegiance to King Mohammed Ibn Al-Hassan

A few hours after the demise of his father, the late King Hassan II(July 29, 1929 - July 23, 1999), on Friday afternoon, H.M. King Mohammed Ibn Al-Hassan (born at Rabat on August 21, 1963) was enthroned as Morocco's new king at an allegiance oath ceremony at the Royal Palace of Rabat.

The Allegiance (Beia) Act was signed by Prince Moulay Rachid (youngest son of the late King Hassan II), the late sovereign's nephews Prince Moulay Hicham and Prince Moulay Ismael, the prime minister, the speakers of the House of Representatives and the Chamber of Advisors, the advisors of H.M. the king, the members of the government, the chairmen of the Ulema councils, the president of the Supreme Court and the public prosecutor at the Supreme Court, the president of the Constitutional Council, the top officers of the general staff of the Royal Armed Forces, the director general of the National Security, the leaders of political parties, the chamberlain of H.M. the king, the director of the personal secretariat of H.M. the king and the director of the Royal Protocol.

The signatories of the Allegiance Act then successively saluted H.M. King Mohammed Ibn Al-Hassan.
