US remains committed to sanctions against Libya
Libya-USA, Politics, 7/23/1999

US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Near East Ronald Neumann said yesterday before a US Congressional committee that the US will not undertake final lifting of sanctions on Libya until all UN Security Council resolutions are met, including cooperation with the trial of the two Libyan suspects in the 1988 explosion of a Pan Am jet over Lockerbie, Scotland. "We won't be able to assure ourselves that Libya is cooperating fully with the trial until after it is substantially under way," Neumann stated.
