Oman starts applying law on intellectual property

Intellectual property laws will start to be enforced on computer programs at the beginning of August in Oman, according to the international agreements for protecting intellectual ownership in this area. All the pirated programs will be taken off of the Omani market, and the imports of imitation and copied programs from abroad will be banned.
A body affiliated to Oman's Trade and Industry Ministry will hold inspection campaigns among these companies to supervise the application of the articles of the new law.
