Prizes in Egyptian cinema festival worth 320,000 pounds

The fifth session of the Egyptian cinema festival is to start at the end of the current month and last for a week.

18 long films and 55 shorts, documentaries and cartoons will be participating. These films will compete for financial prizes worth 320,000 pounds presented by the Egyptian Culture Ministry.

The festival will be held under the chairmanship of Ali Abu Shadi, the head of censorship department, who is also a famous Arab critic.

The first winning film will receive 100,000 pounds.

The winning director will take 15,000 for the best director and 5,000 for the best first work, while prizes of 8,000 pounds will be awarded to the best actor and actress and 5,000 for the best supporting actor and actress. 8,000 pounds will be awarded for the best screenplay and 8,000 the best photography.
