El-Baz: Egypt supports Sudanese unity

Egyptian presidential political advisor Osama El-Baz yesterday underlined Egypt's desire to maintain the territorial integrity of Sudan.

"Despite the fact that Egypt is not satisfied with the steps said to be taken by the Sudanese side, yet Cairo's stance is clear-cut in this respect; no for the partition of the Sudan," he said in an interview with the television program Good Morning Egypt.

Baz called for the US Congress to get a clear vision before taking measures toward Sudan, adding that imposing economic sanctions harms the development of neighbor states as well as the countries targeted by the sanctions.
