24th congress of International Federation of Amateur Theater calls for respect of cultural diversity

Participants to the 24th congress of International Federation of Amateur Theater called last weekend for the respect of cultural diversity to foster entente, rapprochement and peace between peoples of the world.
At the end of their congress, held in Morocco's Atlantic coastal city of Al-Jadida, the world dramatists stressed the need to grant greater importance to child and youth in theatrical works.
They also called for the reinforcement of partnership between Arab and African playwrights and decided to convene the next congress and festival of the International Federation of Amateur Theater in Monaco in 2001.
About 45 amateur theater companies from the four corners of the world took part in the 24th congress of the Federation with their latest plays and creations.
The event was an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and promotion of dramatic arts.
