Garang to visit Cairo soon
Sudan, Politics, 7/21/1999

Colonel John Garang, leader of the Sudanese People's Liberation Army, is due to visit Cairo soon to take part in the meetings of Sudanese opposition officials with Egyptian officials.

Meanwhile, Mohammed El-Motessem, the head of foreign affairs committee in the Democratic Unionist Party, said that following these meetings Garang and the other opposition leaders will head to Tripoli to meet with Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi on Monday to discuss a solution to the Sudanese crisis.

He added that Moussa's meeting with Sudanese opposition leaders Mohammed Othaman El-Merghani and Sadek El-Mahdi, leader of the Ummah Party, was a chance to exchange views and information concerning Sudanese affairs and to discuss a comprehensive solution for the Sudanese crisis.
