Japan grants Mauritania $2.4 million subsidy

Japan granted Mauritania on Monday a US $2.4 million subsidy to develop and increase agricultural production in the North African country.
The funds will help the country reach food self-sufficiency through the purchase of phytosanitary products, fertilizers, machinery and other equipment.
The donation was granted under an agreement signed by Mauritanian minister of economic affairs and development, Mohamed Ould Naniet, and a top diplomat at the Japanese embassy.
