British demonstrators, a message to the Emir of Qatar
Qatar-UK, Politics, 7/20/1999

Demonstrators in Britain on July 16 called on the Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleifa al-Thani to release Sheikh Abdul Rahman al-Nueimi, who has been detained in Qatar for more than one year.

The demonstrators, who gathered in front of Qatar's embassy in London, said in an open message to the ruler of Qatar that they condemn the continued detention of al-Nueimi because he recommended the emir of Qatar to fight corruption in Qatar.

They noted that the continued detention of al-Nueimi is a repressive act in misusing the power of authority, because Sheikh al-Nueimi was arrested without any charge, crime or trial.
