Morocco, Economics, 7/19/1999
Morocco is building a $8.3 million village for fishermen of the Atlantic coastal city of Safi.
The project, to be completed by year 2001, seeks to improve the seamen's living standards and working conditions.
The village will be endowed with all necessary facilities for catches storage, processing and marketing.
Japan is contributing to the project within the framework of a partnership meant to upgrade Moroccan fishermen's skills and protect the kingdom's sea resources.
