Turkish ministers says ties with Syria improving

Turkish Foreign Minister Ismael Cem announced that Turkish - Syrian relations are improving in various areas.

In statements he made to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am, Cem stated that there is a common interest in boosting Turkish - Syrian relations and exchanging visits among businessmen. He added that Turkey is considering its neighbors' needs for water and the possibility of providing those neighbors with water.

Cem asserted his country's backing for the Middle East peace process. He expected that the peace process will witness a real breakthrough in the next stage, adding that his country's foreign relations will not be at the expense of relations with the Arab states.
