Ghali meeting to promote joint projects with US
Egypt-USA, Economics, 7/17/1999

Egyptian Minister of Economy Youssef Butros Ghali is to meet with chairmen and representatives of investment associations and industrial unions and businessmen to focus on joint projects with foreign investors in light of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's recent visit to the United States.

"The relation between economic establishments and the banking bodies, especially that concerned with providing these establishments and production units with the necessary funds will be thoroughly investigated so as to double investments, establish new projects and expand the existing ones," he said.

He added, "A number of meetings with various economic and investment groupings in Egypt shall also be held so as to overcome impediments to investments in the coming stage and benefit from President Mubarak's world tours."
