Cultivating Chinese medical herbs in Toshka

The Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture agreed to cultivate a new plant known as Alaadr in the new areas in Toshka, Shark El-Owinat and in El-Wadi El-Gedid after importing its seeds from China.
Abd El-Magid Ali, a professor at the Egyptian Agricultural Research Center, said this plant has economic importance, as it contains special properties for treating asthma and other medical consditions.
He added that Egypt will join the list of countries exporting this plant, especially after successes in planting preliminary samples of it.
