Yemen works to liberate Belgians kidnapped by tribesmen

Yemeni security bodies started an intensive campaign to free four Belgian hostages who were kidnapped by tribesmen on Thursday under mysterious circumstances.

Security sources said that those kidnapped are two men and two women who were taken by force to an urban area 50 kilometers from Sanaa by members of Jahm tribe in Marib.

The reasons for the kidnapping are not yet known, and whether it has anything to do with the current trials of members of the Abyen Aden Islamic Army who killed four British tourists and one Australian tourist at the beginning of the current year. The Abyen Aden Islamic Army isssued threats that if the death sentence is issued against its leader on trial, it will undertake retaliatory acts against Yemen.

Abeen apeal court on July 26 is due to isse a judgement on the suspects, topped by Abu El-Hassan El-Mohdar.
