Gaddafi and Bin Ali seek to activate Arab Maghreb Union

Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi and Tunisian President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali yesterday stated their desire to activate the Arab Maghreb Union so it can respond to the hopes of the Maghreb region's people.
Gaddafi who is currently visiting Tunis for the first time since suspending the international embargo on his country with Tunis continuos support to the Libyan republic.
It is expected that the Arab Maghreb union which comprises 1989 Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Tunis and Mauritania - will convene a summit at the end of November in Algeria after 5 years of a freeze due to the deterioration in relation between Morocco and Algeria.
