Arab journalists against normalization with Israel
Regional, Politics, 7/16/1999

The general secretariat of the General Federation of Arab Journalists (GFAJ) has affirmed its position opposing normalization with Israel.

Meeting in Cairo on Wednesday, it demanded that all decisions taken by the federation along with its conference should be applied, stressing the need to strictly punish any journalist who violates this stand.

GFAJ Secretary General Salah al-Din Hafez said in a statement released by the general secretariat that the GFAJ "reminds all Arab journalists of its firm stand towards normalization with Israel."

Al-Hafez continued, "Bringing to mind the latest decision taken on February 10, 1999 by the general secretariat, the new decision emphatically called for boycotting Israel by all means."
