Seven persons were killed in Sudan, including two local ministers and two policemen, in the Sudanese al-Wahdeh province by an armed group.

The governor of al-Wahdah province, Taaban Vey Deng, said in a statement that armed men stopped the ministers of cultural affairs and construction, the Sultan of Mayoum district and the commissioner of Baryang district and two northern traders and opened fire on them.

Deng added that two policemen were also killed and that the police commissioner escaped death after he was wounded by the gunmen, who the statement said are affiliated to an opposition faction.
