Kuwait's new government takes constitutional oath
Kuwait, Politics, 7/15/1999

Members of the new Kuwaiti government chaired by Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah on Wednesday in Kuwait took their constitutional oath before Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah during Sheikh Jaber's reception on Wednesday of the Kuwaiti prime minister, his deputies and the ministers who are members of the Kuwaiti government.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, Sheikh Jaber presided over the first meeting of the new government. He asserted in an inaugural speech the need to exert relentless efforts in order to achieve stability, security and progress for Kuwait.

It is decided that the Kuwaiti government will propose its governmental work program for the coming phase before the nation's council, which was elected 10 days ago and which will hold its first session next Saturday on July 17, to win the confidence of the council.
