Moroccan king holds private talks with Chirac, French PM

On Monday, King Hassan II of Morocco who is undertaking this July 12-15 an official visit to France, held private talks on Monday afternoon with French President Jacques Chirac, and is scheduled to hold another meeting with the French head of state.

Today, King Hassan II of Morocco and French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin held in Paris tete-a-tete talks, on the second day of the king's visit to France.

Contents of the 45 minute meeting were not disclosed.

A French official source said the king will receive French Foreign Minister Hubert Vedrine and meet with the heads of French enterprises.

The king is visiting France as "a guest of honor" and will attend on July 14 the military parade marking France's national days. A detachment of the Moroccan royal guard is also taking part in the parade.
