Members of opposing Sudanese assembly convene a closed meeting
Sudan-Egypt, Politics, 7/13/1999

Members of the opposition Sudanese Democratic National Alliance held yesterday a closed meeting at the house of the head of the group, Mohammed Othman El-Merghany, in Cairo.

The alliance is meeting to resume discussions that started two days ago with the participation of the Egyptian government to find a solution to the Sudanese crisis and resume what was agreed upon in the most recent opposition meeting in Asmara, as well as evaluating the meetings that took place among leaders of the alliance, the secretary general of the ruling National Party in Egypt, and Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Deputy Prime Minister Yuossef Wali.

Mohammed El-Moetassem Hakem, the informational spokesman of the Unionist Party, told ArabicNews.com today that the fivefold committee of the alliance will start its meetings when the Egyptian leaderships resume discussing finding a peaceful solution for Sudan's case.
