Israel starts once again the theft of soil from Lebanon
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 7/13/1999

After admitting and promising to stop stealing Lebanese top soil, Israel seems to be back at it according to a Lebanese report.

The Israeli occupation forces have stolen Lebanese soil from al-Dardara plain and Murj al-Khayyam in Marjyoun for the newly-erected Israeli agricultural zone behind the international borders of Kafer Kalla and al-Matellah settlement.

Well-informed Lebanese sources said that the Israelis provided the newly-erected agricultural area with advanced irrigation sprinklers and established a monitoring tower adjacent to the highway on the entrance of al-Adeseyah from Kafer Kalla direction.

The Lebanese daily al-Nahar in 1998 showed in illustrated pictures how the Israelis carried out theft operations of Lebanese soil from the border strip. The operations were stopped by a large-scale Lebanese diplomatic campaign and the intervention of the UN, the Lebanese daily al-Nahar reported.
