Al-Assad renews refusal to receive Arafat

The Jordanian weekly al-Hadath quoted diplomatic sources in Amman as saying that Syrian President Hafez al-Assad has reiterated his rejection to meet with Palestinian President Yasser Arafat despite Egyptian mediation.
The paper quoted these sources as asserting that this rejection by the Syrian president is pertinent to the Oslo agreement and later similar accords.
