Al-Assad confers with chairman of Jordanian royal court

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Monday at the Damascus al-Shaab presidential palace received the chief of the Jordanian royal court, Abdul Karim al-Kabareiti. Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Sharaa attended the meeting
Talks dealt with the developments in the region and the new atmospheres surrounding the peace process, as well as other issues of interest to both Syria and Jordan.
Earlier in the day, al-Sharaa received al-Kabareiti. The two sides discussed the situation in the region, peace process developments and bilateral relations between Syria and Jordan.
Meanwhlie, Jordanian Prime Minister Abdul Raouf al-Rawabdeh has described Jordanian - Arab relations as in their best condition, hinting that Jordan will be always have an Arab affiliation.
On the economic conditions in Jordan, the Jordanian prime minister stressed on Monday in a speech he made in Amman before the conference of the Jordanian youths living abroad that the economy is beginning to recover and the government will concentrate its policy on two main matters: to encourage investment and revitalize the tourism sector, especially tourism with the Arab states.
