Preparations for a Syrian- Egyptian summit in Alexandria

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am, said on Monday that preparations are currently being made between Cairo and Damascus in order to convene a Syrian-Egyptian summit in Alexandria following the return of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak from Algeria.
Well-informed sources told the paper that the summit was scheduled following Mubarak's return from Washington, but President Hafez al-Assad's visit to Moscow prevented the convening of the summit, which was postponed until the end of the week or the beginning of next week, at the latest.
