Balkan airlines prevented from landing in Syria, crossing its airspace
Syria-Bulgaria, Politics, 7/12/1999
Syrian Minister of Transport Mufeed Abdul Karim has enacted a law that provides for severing all trade ties and cooperation with the Bulgarian "Balkan" airlines and preventing it from landing in Syrian airports or crossing Syrian airspace after the company has 75% of its shares to two Israeli companies.
The newly-enacted law implies the halting of cooperation with the Balkan company or providing it with any service because it has violated laws valid in Syria.
The company sold at the end of last month 75% of its shares to the Israeli companies Zeigi and Katafeym and Areika.
