April Understanding committee to meet next Tuesday
Lebanon-Israel, Politics, 7/10/1999

The April Understanding monitoring committee will meet next Tuesday at the headquarters of UNIFIL in the Lebanese border town of al-Naqoura, after Israel has announced that it is returning to the committee.

The committee will discuss some 14 Lebanese complaints against Israel on the grounds of the repeated Israeli aggressions which targeted several areas in Lebanon and resulted in the deaths and wounding of civilians, damaging properties and the infrastructure. The meeting of the April Understanding committee, which is its 84th since its foundation, comes just one month following the last meeting held on June 14.

On June 28 and 29 two attempts were made to convene the committee meeting but failed at that time as a result of stand adopted by the former Israeli government which suspended the participation of the Israeli group in the committee.
