$5 billion in foreign investments in Lebanon

The volume of foreign investments in Lebanon increased during 1998 to $5 billion.
Official news revealed there are 61 foreign corporations that invest in Lebanon, including 14 Saudi companies, and that the volume of Arab investments reaches $312 million, 19.6% of the total foreign investment in Lebanon. Saudi investments form 39% of these Arab investments, while the United Arab Emirates' investments accounted for 31% and Kuwaiti investments totaled 19%.
The Lebanese government presents many facilities to foreign investors like taxes and customs exemptions.
