Radio and television festival to open in Cairo on Sunday

Egyptian Minister of Information Safwat El-Sherif is to open on the coming Sunday the fifth session of the Cairo radio and television festival, which will last for one week and in which 15 Arab states are to participate with 182 television and radio programs.

Egypt occupies the first position with 32 dramatic works and programs.

The second position was occupied by Tunisia and Morocco, each with 24 works, then Jordan with 14 works while Syria participates with only 3 works, in comparison to more than 20 dramas and programs last year.

The participants are competing for prizes of Golden Innovation to be granted to three works in all fields of the festival, in addition to appreciation certificates and financial prizes of 200,000 pounds granted by the Egyptian Ministry of Information to the winners.
