Sheikh Yassin: Hopes on Barak have no foundation
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/8/1999
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, founder of the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement, said that "Arab hopes" placed on new Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to push forward the peace process "have no foundation."
He added that Hamas will resume its resistance works against the Israeli occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
He also said he sees no justification for the Palestinian Authority and the Arabs to place hopes on Barak while his history is tained with blood, adding that, "Reality will differ from the rosy declarations."
