Levy for building confidence between Israel and each of Egypt, Jordan and the Palestinians
Regional-Israel, Politics, 7/8/1999

Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy said on Wednesday that he is giving top priority to the issue of strengthening relations between Israel and each of Jordan, and Egypt as well as creating an atmosphere of confidence with the Palestinians.

On the meeting between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak within the next two days, Levy said, according to the Israel Radio, that this meeting will be an opportunity to settle the disputes between Israel and Egypt in several fields.

Meanwhile, former Israeli Foreign Minister Ariel Sharon has briefed Levy on the real conditions of developments.

Israel Radio said that new Israeli Finance Minister Abraham Shouhat, who will accompany Barak to Alexandria and Amman, said on Wednesday that progress in the Middle East peace process will bring economic matters with the Arab world onto the negotiating table once again.
