Morocco calls France to contribute to Mediterranean by-pass

Moroccan minister of finance and economy, Fathallah Oualalou, called France Monday to contribute to the financing of the Mediterranean by-pass that links Moroccan northeastern cities.
During a meeting Monday in Paris with French minister of economy, finance and industry, Dominique Straus-Kahn, Oualalou said France should also bring financial assistance to a project to create a social development agency.
The two ministers voiced satisfaction at the implementation of recommendations of the joint declaration adopted at the end of the joint commission meeting. They singled out, in particular, the speeding up of the conversion of Moroccan debts owed to France into investments.
