Gaddafi to visit Algeria tomorrow
Libya-Algeria, Politics, 7/7/1999

Libyan President Moammar Gaddafi is heading tomorrow to Algeria for a three-day official visit to fulfill the invitation made by Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

Libyan sources said the visit comes as part of the mediation made by Libya between Algeria and Morocco to solve the long-standing difficulties in relations between the two states.

Gaddafi will also discuss with Bouteflika reviving the Arab Maghreb Union and obtaining Algeria's support for its stance toward Lockerbie. Algeria has just announced its support for Egypt's inclusion in the Maghreb Union constituting most of the North African Arab states.
