His welcome was followed by an address from ambassador Salah Basuni, representative of the Egyptian peace movements.

That was followed by Daneil Kurtzer, the U.S. ambassador in Egypt; Ambassador Ulademair Godaive of the Russian Federation, then addresses by Ambassador Harold Nilsson of Denmark; Riyadh El-Malki, the coordinator of the Palestinian delegation; and members of peace movement to honor Lotfi El-Kholi, Ihssan Sherdem' and David Kamhi'.

Lotfi El-Kholi is one of the first who called for peace as a style for solving disputes instead of war.

All the addresses said that peace is people's will, and it is their desire and not the government's.

In the meeting today, the conference started with the addressed delivered by Khalil, in which he hailed peace and presented former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres, who said that peace was obstructed in former Israeli Prime Minsiter Benjamin Netenyahu's era and that the Israeli people showed in the last election that their choice is peace.

Answering a question, Peres said peace in Netenyahu's time stood in a "period of no war, no peace," adding that there is no alternative to peace.
