Exporting Egyptian potatoes to Uruguay
Egypt-Uruguay, Economics, 7/6/1999
The Egyptian Ihuad company for foodstuffs agreed to export 70% of the potato production of the company's factory to Uruguay.
This came during the visit of an economic delegation under the chairmanship of Uruguay's vice president Hugo Fernandez Faingold and Uruguay's ambassador in Cairo, George Wilit, to Sadat industrial city while they were checking the company's production lines.
The contract was signed by Motaser Mohammed Zaki, head of board of directors of the company, and Sami Rizk, head of the Mirasco Uruguay company.
This transaction comes in an attempt to find new markets for Egyptian potatoes due to the problem placed by the European Union before Egyptian potato exporters.
