Fair for Egyptian products open in Gaza

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat opened yesterday evening the first fair for Egyptian products in Palestine, in which Egyptian Minister of Trade Ahmed Goweili, who is visiting Palestine for the first time heading a delegation comprising important personalities, participated.

Meanwhile, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority strongly protested Israel's obstruction of the entry of a large Egyptian economic delegation into Gaza to participate in the first fair for Egyptian products in Palestine.

The Palestinian and Egyptian officials accused the Israeli authorities of deliberately delaying the release of the Egyptian delegation's baggage in am attempt to obstruct the establishment of the fair.

The Egyptian delegation includes 54 businessmen and representatives of companies in the private and public sectors.
