Eleven bus passengers die in road accident

Eleven people died on Sunday in Kelaat-Sraghna (southern Morocco) when a bus collided with a truck. Thirty six people were injured, including 19 who sustained serious injuries in the accident.

Two days before, 6 people died and 32 others were injured in a similar accident near Taza (Northeastern Morocco).

According to official figures, more than 3,000 people were killed in 1998 and 12,000 others were seriously injured in road accidents in Morocco. Morocco is conducting an awareness campaign that will last till September 5 to reduce the number of road accidents.
