Kuwaiti government resigns

The Kuwaiti government chaired by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah on Sunday submitted its resignation to the ruler of the country, Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah
Sheikh Jaber accepted the resignations and enacted an "emiri" decree that provides for assigning the resigning government to continue its activities until a new government is established.
The ruler of Kuwait also enacted emiri decree no. 168 in which he called on the nation's council to meet at the first session of the ninth legislative course on Saturday, July 17.
Meanwhile, in an extraordinary session headed by Crown Prince and Premier Sheikh Saad al-Abdullah al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti government on Sunday reviewed the official results of the general elections for the membership of the nation's council of the ninth legislative course carried out on Saturday.
The Kuwaiti government expressed its appreciation for the great efforts made by specialized ministries for providing the nation's council election process a success and for enabling voters to carry out their right in voting for their candidates freely and fairly.
