Palestinian Authority expects stop to establishment of settlements
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/3/1999
Sources in the Palestinian Authority said today that the PA expects incoming Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to stop building the settlements in the occupied Palestinian lands.
In its statement yesterday after its weekly meeting in Ramallah under the chairmanship of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat the PA urged Barak to implement the unimplemented two stages of redeployment in the West bank according to the Wye River accord.
The accord's implementation was halted by Israel's outgoing government after it was signed with the Palestinian Authority in Washington during October 1998.
