Sudan to use dinars instead of the pound

Sudan central bank decided to stop dealing with the Sudanese pound and to change the name to dinar, which is divided to 100 equal units named paisters.
In press statements issued today, the central bank urged Sudanese citizens to bring what they have of pounds to branches of commercial banks all over Sudan and to exchange it for dinars.
The bank also urged owners of bank accounts to issue checks in dinars and obliged the banks to carry out all transfers, bonds and transactions with this new currency.
