The British daily the Guardian said that the British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook was exposed to strong criticism because he prevented several members of the British parliament from travelling to Libya in order to join a British trade delegation intending to visit Libya.
The BBC said that it was expected that a British delegation composed of 13 parliament members from the Labor, Conservative, and Liberal Parties were to arrive in Tripoli on Sunday to lead a British trade delegation in order to get acquainted with the construction of the largest artificial river in Libya.
The paper added that Cook interfered and prevented the British parliamentary delegation from going to Libya.
