Barak talks on the telephone to Arafat
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 7/3/1999
Israeli Prime Minister-elect Ehud Barak on Friday made a telephone call to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat during which they agreed to convene a meeting a short time after Barak assumes power in Israeli next week.
The date of the summit, the first in seven months, has not yet been determined, but it will take place after the presentation of the Israeli government's formation to the Knesset at the end of the current week.
During the phone call, Barak said he is committed to the method of the late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and motivating the peace process on all tracks.
