Palestinians to promote Egyptian products in Gaza

Palestinian President Yasser Arafat is to open a fair for Egyptian products organized by the international organization for fairs and markets for the first time in the Palestinian city of Gaza from July 4 - 6.

A commercial delegation is to head today to Gaza under the chairmanship of Mohammed El-Said Saleh, head of the Egyptian general organization for international fairs and markets, to participate in the opening of this fair, held in the framework of the organization's plan to open new markets to Egyptian exports with care for promoting products from the Arab states and supporting the Palestinian people.

Saleh said more than 90 companies from both the public and private sectors are to display their products, including fabrics, textiles, engineering goods, food industries, medicine and housing equipment.

He also said it was agreed to establish this fair during a meeting with a delegation from the Palestinian Trade Ministry, who visited Cairo in April. An agreement was also reached to convene a fraternal agreement between the two states' ministers of commerce to benefit from the Egyptian experience in establishing fairs as well as in marketing and promoting Palestinian products.
