Egypt, Culture, 7/2/1999
The supreme council for archeology in Egypt agreed on a plan to establish new ten museums in Egypt's different governorates by the year 2004.
The plan includes establishing museums in Kafr El-Sheik, Rashid, Malawi, Sharm El-Sheik, Hurgada, Kena, Marsa Matrouh, and Monofia.
Ahmed Nawar, head of the museum sector in the Egyptian Ministry of Culture said, "These new museums will be established in addition to a plan for developing and repairing the current existing museums."
He added, "The new museums aim at displaying the largest set of Egyptian archeology stored in warehouses to giving a chance to tourists and visitors to see rare pieces of archeology."
