Egypt-Saudi Arabia, Economics, 7/2/1999
The new maritime line which links the Egyptian Safaga harbor and the Saudi Daba harbor has started operation with one journey daily for a rapid cruiser which covers the distance in three hours and carries 600 passengers.
This line contributes to the tourism flow from the Gulf states to Egypt, especially families who use their cars in moving between the two states.
The harbor witnessed during the last week the arrival and departure of more than 26 trips for the ships El-Salaam, Wadi El-Nil and El-Salaam El-Saudi.
The number of incoming tourists has reached more than 6,700 passengers accompanied by 360 private cars.
