Tunisia issues international bonds in euros
Tunisia, Economics, 7/1/1999
The Tunisian government decided to issue international bonds worth 250 million euros ($259 million).
The duration of these bonds varies between 5 and 10 years, and it aims at attracting international financial corporations which are active in North African markets, especially in Egypt and Morocco.
The Tunisian central bank previously issued Japanese and American bonds, but this is the first time the bank has issued bonds in euros in a plan to issue bonds worth a billion euros.
