Arafat in good health
Palestine, People, 7/1/1999
Renowned Jordanian neurological doctor Ashraf al-Kurdi asserted on Wednesday that the health condition of Yasser Arafat is "good" and that he does not suffer from Parkinson's disease.
Dr. al-Kurdi, who carried out medical tests for Arafat in Amman on Tuesday said the Palestinian president suffers from "trembling" as a result of "nerves pressure" that cannot be considered a symptom of Parkinson's disease.
Dr. al-Kurdi added that the results of the medical tests carried out on Arafat on Tuesday are not different from those carried out previously, adding that such "trembling" lessens when Arafat takes rest.
During his visit to Amman on Monday and Tuesday, reporters asked Arafat about his health, and he answered, "How do you see me?"
He at the same time stressed he was to undergo medical tests in Amman.
