Regional-Iran, Politics, 7/1/1999
Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharazi has announced that Syria and Iran are adopting common stances in support of the steadfastness mounted by the Lebanese people against the continuous Israeli aggressions against Lebanon.
In an arrival statement in Tehran from Burkina Faso where he took part in the meeting of the OIC FMs, Kharazi said he recently discussed with his Syrian counterpart, Farouk al-Sharaa, the situation in the Middle East, the repeated Israeli attacks against Lebanon, and the common stances shared by Iran and Syria in confrontation of these attacks.
The Iranian FM added that the Burkina Faso conference highlighted issues and problems of the Islamic world, including the cause of Palestine, Jerusalem, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Kashmir, and inter-Islamic states' cooperation. He added that the conference ratified a document in support of the project proposed by Iranian President Muhammad Khatami concerning dialogue as well as the establishment of the parliament for the Islamic countries.
