Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday continued their attacks against areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said Israeli artillery positioned in al-Zafatta bombarded on Wednesday afternoon the Aqmata area in al-Tuffah district, using 155 mm shells.
On Wednesday at dawn the Israeli artillery bombarded al-Zaatar mountain, the outskirts of Barachit, Eita al-Jabal, Haris, Yater and Kafra, according to Lebanese security sources. The Lebanese security sources added that the Israeli forces also shelled from their position in Abbad.
Further reports from south Lebanon said the Israeli forces renewed their bombardment of Lebanese towns and villages in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli bombardment concentrated on the surroundings of al-Hamra farm, and the outskirts of Zouter East and Zouter West.
Meanwhile, Israeli jet fighters flew over the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Wednesday morning, breaking the sound barrier twice.
The Israeli warplanes also flew over the central and western sectors of south Lebanon and over the Bekaa, Lebanese security sources said.
Meanwhile, the Israeli gunboats fired on fishing boats in Qaleilah, south of Tyre.
News reports from south Lebanon said the Israeli gunboats forced the fishermen to return to the port, preventing them from fishing.
On Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces arrested three citizens from the south, taking them to Khiam prison.
Moreover, security sources in Lebanon said that the Israeli artillery positioned in al-Abbad, Balat, Zafata, al-Aisheyah and Sujoud attacked on Wednesday afternoon al-Zaatar mountain, Barachit, al-Sawannah, Haris, Hadatha, Eita al-Jabal, Zibqin and al-Deb valley.
The Israeli bombardment was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire aimed at mountain roads linking al- Tuffah area to the occupied border strip of south Lebanon.
In retaliation, the Lebanese resistance on Wednesday afternoon attacked two positions of the Israeli forces and the Israeli-allied SLA militia in al-Hardoun and Sweida area.
In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said that resistance forces monitored Israeli mechanized reinforcements inside al-Hardoun position. One of its groups attacked these reinforcements with rockets and machine-gun fire, the statement added.
